Error Message: The file Directory is corrupted ?
I was trying to open some jpeg images that I stored on my computer two months ago. When I tried to open, delete or rename files, I get these messages,
:\\ is not accessible
The File or directory is corrupt and non-readable. The file or directory is corrupt and non-readable. The file or direcrtory\\ is corrupt and unreadable. Please run chkdsk utility
I am not known to this fact that what to do in this situation. Please guide me if anyone knows how to come out from this problem.

Error messages in windows or other operating systems indicates that something is or may be going to be wrong and you may lose some or large amount of data. As you have described about the error message, the behavior can occur if the file, folder or the file system index which is also known as (Master File Table[MFT] or File Allocation Table is damaged, corrupted or deleted. When you run the Chkdsk, it detects the problems within the file system and attempts to repair the damage and data loss can occur. You can first try to use the command chkdsk /f: in the run dialog box.
